Beta v1.0 is released!


Yup, the Beta is up!
If you donated for the Beta you should've received an email with instructions of how to gain access!

What to expect: The entirety of the farm's been designed all thanks to our resident genius Veins. Right now you can play about half of the farm, and although some things are not perfect, you can still enjoy some good platforming and some yummy mushroom soup... I mean sex! All that's really left is for me to program the second half of the farm as some minor details need to be added or corrected. During that time, Veins will work on more MoGi and level designs. Btw, there's finally some plot now yay! We threw in some extra things as well... but enough with the spoilers!

Since most of the playable characters have been programmed and a lot of stuff's been designed we're getting back into the meat of things... yum.... meat... but if you're a vegetarian there's plenty of pumpkins and mushrooms to feed an entire army! Now stop drooling and enjoy your meal as we get back to work on more MoGi!

  2. Are there going to be some MoGi's that are annoying to fight? For example, attacks that need to be dodge or else you'll die, or MoGi's with fast movement and attacks.

    1. Basically are there going to be enemy archetypes? that require a certain form of strategy to beat? From the boss' only i guess that must happen. With the other mogi it would be cool, i suppose you could make the game a degree of challenging that way :D

    2. Vongola: I doubt that any MoGi would will you instantly. All MoGi would need some kind of strategy (depending on the environment too)but if they are annoying or not that's a matter of opinion. Some advanced MoGi will have fast movement and attacks but we will try to balance pretty much everything, according to our testings and the feedback we get. If an enemy runs for example, it will only need 1 hit to die.

      Herby: I'm not sure what you mean by "archetypes". If by "strategy" you mean things like "I have to crouch in order to hit" then yes. The enemies would be pretty much generic as with any 2D platform game. Their combination is what would be challenging. You can get a taste of that in the current Beta.

    3. Yeah sorry, Strategy isn't the quite correct word, i mean't method. So a mogi can only be damaged when you hit on its back etc. But if the combination of different enemies forces a different way to tackle them, that is pretty much the same thing. Archetypes is just to describe different behaviour or types. That they act different due to what they are programmed to do. Sorry i used the term from the assassins creed games so like the "Archer" or "Brute"

    4. Well... hmm... we do have an internal way of separating the MoGi into diff groups. We group them according to their range of attack which leads to their difficulty. In that sense, we do have "Archers" and "Brutes". To be more precise, we have "short range", "mid range" and "long range" attacks.

    5. That's good to know. I like a challenge =). I brought this up because of a game I play called "Dungeon Fighter Online," where some dungeons have enemies with much more complex attack patterns and gimmicks to them.

    6. Um.. talking about Neko in some other comment, I just remembered.. she should cause a lot of damage when she hits Voms. Also, RockGirl MoGi should have more life and less recovery time than other MoGi. So, here's some differences between their species at the top of my head.

  4. I have to say though the Beta frustrated me in one area. The part with the water hazard and the small platforms littered with mogi. It's all fine and all but the knock back from their attacks send me flying right into the water hazard without a chance to get onto the platform. Unless you can make the platforms larger that bit was a tad annoying so i gave up on it entirely. Since the last save i could find was all the way back where you meet the bearded farmer.

    1. Yes, that knock back is something to consider, although it is somewhat realistic. But it doesn't really knock you back too far and that was about the end of the beta anyways. I doubt that the farms will have so many MoGi in the final version. Btw, you can save again and again on the Farmer's warehouse. That should help a bit.

    3. It wasn't anything to do with level progression i have to say, just for a collectible so it wasn't making the beta unplayable or anything quite as bad. But yeah having Voms "ejaculate" in water was funny at first but annoying after the 6th time :L Feel free to make the game hard though. (not that the beta was easy)

    3. if you haven't paid for the game, the beta costs $30 but you also receive the complete game as well.
      if you have paid for the game, the beta costs $18
      If you have pledged for 2 rewards in Offbeatr that both include the game, then the beta costs $0, just give us your Offbeatr nickname to check you out.

      The beta access is the the game in pre-released stages, as it is being made, so there are going to be several beta releases. If you pay once, you will have access to all of these releases.

  6. For some reason, I'm unable to actually get out of the docks. I've tried wiping all the data - save and gallery - but even when I do that, the door past the guard is always said to still be locked by Voms.

    Or is the door to the Farm a different one then the one with the 2 on it that is past him?

    1. Go left from the security guard until you find a door without a number; that's the farm entrance. I'm guessing the numbers represent various security levels you'll need access cards for.

  7. Looking at the Gallery, it seems the Pumpkin Girl and the Mushroom Girls should have H-scenes, right? Because I can't seem to find out how you'd get the Mushroom Girls to work. They won't throw fruit if you're close to them, and they don't have a melee attack. Being hit by their fruit from range just knocks you down until you hit any button, then you 'heal' as normal.

  9. I just finshed playing, and I'm happy with what I saw and I'm looking forward to see more.
    I like amanita, however, I think it would be better if her projectil could be stoped by obstacles, I also agree the knockback is a bit too big when you are near the water and often lead to death.
    Also there is one time, I was shoot by amanita and landed near pumpkin and it's pumpkin that raped me, is it a bug or mogi cooperation ? :D
    Finaly I have a quesiton, are all the collectible collectable ? I was only able to get the first row.
    I want to thank you veins and titan for your great work :)

      Actually I don't know where Titan hid the collectibles... I only found the top row as well! I don't think there are any more tho.

      The river level is harder than it should, but that's only because it's a beta version. That level should be easier in the final version but we wanted to give you something to fool around while we build the rest of the levels.

      I'd like to hear more about the game from everyone. What you like, what you don't like... personally I even found a couple of funny glitches! So yeah, give us your feedback!

  11. Only a few things I noticed from the Beta, one which some people brought up already, that Amanita's attacks are funky; she won't attack if you're close, so to get the scene to work, I had to be far enough away so she would throw, whatever that is, and walk towards it when it's a lethal hit.

    One other small thing is the music loop, it's not linked very well, but I music is probably one of the last thing on a list of priorities.

    Other then that, so far so good, very happy with the progress you've made and hope more comes sooner than later. If I may be so bold, maybe Neko could make it as our next thing we test?

    1. Actually, after this release we plan on releasing more material as soon as we can. Our current plan is to release a new beta when we finish the farms completely and everything else works as good as it can.

      And as it happens, we were discussing about having Neko to be the next MoGi because she was the most popular in the poll of Ucogi-forums. We'll see.

      I personally think Amanita is fine as she is. She hides when in immediate danger and throws stuff when she is in a safe distance. If she also had a short range attack she would be too hard. Don't worry, when more MoGi populate the world she would have more chances of having sex with Voms!

  14. Finally got around to trying it, got stuck at a platforming level where I would get slapped off the platforms and fall into water. I saw nipples which was very nice of you guys. Additionally, the new animation is good. Not better than Pumpkin Girl but good. In regards to new characters, is Voms still the only playable character? I know you showed some things on Chibi Ucogi, I was wondering if any other characters, like Rudy or Vor were also playable at this time.

      A lot of the characters have qcf attacks but not all of them can traverse the environments equally right now... still working on how that part's all going to work. Chibi's... so strong...

  15. Found a bug where if I'm hanging from the ledge above an elevator when it descends, I go down but stay in the hanging state.

    2. I went up the elevator, broke the crate, pushed the barrel on to the elevator, rode the elevator back up on the barrel, jumped & hung on to the ledge, and waited.

    5. Me again! Now that we know about the character swapping, I've been goofing around, and I noticed that wherever I swap to Rudy (at least, I assume it's Rudy), the game crashes. Here's the error message:

      I've gotten a similar error playing as Vor, but I haven't pinned down a repeatable case yet.

  18. I need to ask everyone who pledged in Offbeatr to go and check their messages there.

    Not only we sent the Beta access to those who pledged for it, but we also need info about the NPC names among other things we might require such as MoGi rapes. Ignoring this message might stall the game and ultimately may result to lose the deadline for naming your individual NPC. We have no other way of contacting the pledgers. We can wait, but please do not neglect this request if you want to name an NPC.

    So far we got zero NPC names for the game and well... the farmers need names!

    1. No man. 15 bucks gets you a different reward. The screen saver, the icons and the wallpapers. With another 15 you get that same reward again. 30 dollars is for beta and the game, without the rewards. So I donated 30 first, for the beta, then 15 for the screen saver and icons.

    2. This is a bit confusing, so let me clear a few things up.

      If you donated for the "game" ($12) but not for the "game AND beta" ($30) you can pay the difference ($18) and we will give you beta access (since the $30 reward is an extension of the $12 reward). In this case we need your OffBeatr username otherwise it can be messy (sending too many emails to find your info could stall the making of the game).

      However if you paid for the $15 pledge, you can't pay the difference because the rewards are completely different. In the $15 reward you don't get a game, so you need to pay $12 if you want the game and $30 to get the game AND the Beta access.

    1. You cannot. There 30 Dollars is in euros so you will have to pay the euros even if it gets converted to a higher amount. For me 30 Euros was 45.34AUD
      Amount: €30.00 EUR
      Currency conversion: $45.34 AUD = €30.00 EUR

    2. This doesn't really make sense, because people on the offbeatr website paid 30 USD, not 30 Euros. Wouldn't it be that you convert 30 USD to Euros, and not the other way around?

    3. This is too confusing.

      Offbeatr was dealing in USD. Donations are dealt in euros. If you google "how much is $30 in euros" you will get a calculation as a result (roughly 22 euros).

      We can't possibly calculate what everyone want's and what each one of you needs, so I'm kindly asking you to do this yourselves, otherwise the summer will go by and we will still be typing numbers. Not to mention that we need to verify everyone one from OB usernames, emails, and compare the date and so on. Even if someone changes their mind, plus the time and language differences and the time it takes for someone to reply.... that can magnify the issue several times over!

      Please we need everyone's help on this, because this really distracts us from our actual work. I hope you all understand.

  26. I have found that when Voms is in a downed state, but not being raped by any mogi. I am able to still access areas. So Voms is on the floor and I accidentally press up rather than z thinking it'll get me up. And then i end up in a new area with the bar still moving below. But my health is on zilch that once i am hit again i go back down. This happened in the area before the fire and i needed to go the where the sprinkler switch was.

    5. I'm afraid we can't do that for several reasons:

      1) The game gets pre-designed so that we know everything that we have to do in order to avoid any surprises. Adding a whole new mode means to change the game design (programming and story) from it's foundations.

      2) Because of the above, and since OB period is over, the donations we receive are not considered as "croudfunding" anymore, that's why you can only get a limited number of them (the game, the beta and the digital packs).

      3) We already established that we will add the 40k and 45k goals from Offbeatr, even though we originally received much less than that. That's because we wanted to make a complete game since we were so close to those goals and because we wanted to keep everyone happy.

      4) The game will be complete. Bloody Alice would have been only be a prequel game that had nothing (much) to do with MoGi. She may as well appear in another game.

      5) All that said, we might add more stuff depending on our restrictions and deadlines. We want to make this game as appealing and fun as possible, so if we can add something extra, we will. You already got all those collectibles! xD

    7. That was something extra suggested by the fans. It is possible that it will happen but we haven't made plans about that as of now. We will know more when Ucogi and Alice are made.

  28. a great job, I can not wait to see more, I hope you can I move apace, viewing the list of Mogis you have prepared, I would say that you do not have to do more designs will be a great game no doubt, suggest an idea, you could make variations of the same pose of rape, as the character fails in his attempt to escape, that would be a big twist, congratulations greetings for the game.

Right now we can't give you any of those rewards because they are not finished. If you mean why you don't have Beta access, it's because you didn't pledged for Beta access. I'm afraid that to Beta access you need to donate $18 extra. Sorry for this confusion...

    3. The Offbeatr period is over and we don't deal anymore with all the pledges that appear there. Some of the pledges might get re-opened but right now we can't deal with people asking all kinds of things. So we only offer 2 things for the time being: the Beta and the Digital Megapack. We will give you the Digital book if you want, or we can give you the Beta since you gave us $30+, but without the Guidebook. It's confusing but thats why I'm saying "people asking all kinds of things".... because it's messy.

      You can donate by clicking "Donate" on the top right corner of this page, right under the PumpkinGirl. It says "Get the beta now!"

      These are your options since you gave us $30:
      1) Donate $18 to get Digital book and Beta + Game
      2) Don't donate any more and get the beta but not the Guidebook (You still need to get something that is worth $20, since the beta is worth $30.. thats a bit messy to us right now)
      3) Don't donate any more and get the Guidebook but not the beta.

      I'm surprised though.. nobody made any comments about Chibi or the other characters (as draft as they may be). I'd like to hear some feedback.

    3. Then let me be the first! First of all, aside from the rather hilarious super-fast running animation (same with that big hulking draft - shift-left from vom-s) I felt that ucogi seemed rather OP (compared to Voms anyway), unless you're actually trying to make Voms deliberately weak. I felt as though playing as Voms was really just like playing on hard mode, switching to the other chars was like playing on easy mode. Chibi was very fun to play, I especially liked her ability to climb walls, very innovative, I had so much fun climbing up invisible walls across the levels, and jumping into the void (especially in the empty area to the right of the crate which contained a collectible after having to activate the moving platform as Voms, near the vending machine I encountered a number of glitches there.)
      The main problem with the other drafts is that they cannot drop down onto the ledges such as the ones in the river area, they seem to just fall straight through them, though I imagine this would be fixed in the final. Personally, I would have loved more secret areas (just my personal opinion, I LOVE secret areas). Anyway back to the characters, to be honest, Voms, in terms of uniqueness I felt as though the drafts/chibi ucogi kind of lacked variance, they really all just possessed the same 3-hit combo attack, roughly the same speed, and just didn't seem to stand out to me (just a personal opinion though). I know that I have nothing to do with the development of the game at all, but perhaps I could share some ideas for more attack variance? E.g

      1. One character might, say, upon pressing and holding the attack button, would enter a charge state, that could be charged to, say 5 levels, and each level would execute a different attack, e.g (purely for speculation) (charge 1(a short press) might execute an uppercut, charge 2 might execute a flying kick, charge 3 maybe a combo attack etc etc

      2. Another character might be a pure grappler, e.g upon hitting the attack button, they would attempt to grab an enemy for about 1 second, and then during that one second, you could input a button combination (such a up+c or something) and it would execute a type of throw perhaps, maybe a piledriver etc etc.

      Sorry if i'm sounding obnoxious or anything, I no I have no say in the matter, but I just feel as though the current chars, as this rate seem rather similar (once again just my personal opinion - my apologies if I come across as rude). I mean I do realise this is just the beta though!

      Plusses - Everything! I for a beta I really enjoyed it, however short it was.
      Negatives - The drafts of the secret characters seemed rather similar to one another, IMO they seemed to be lacking in variance a bit.

      Indeed these are just drafts, the final characters would be more balanced. Vor (the hulky character) for example, would be much faster and he could jump a lot higher. Ucogi may seem to play on easy mode but if her levels are harder than Voms then the difficulty would be about the same. Voms story will be slower, riddle-based. Ucogi's would be faster, more action based.

      No grabbing characters I'm afraid.. too hard to design and program!

      Did you ever managed to play as Rudy? she shoots stuff so her gameplay is very different. She would be able to charge her weapon as well.

    7. Very nice indeed! She has a major glitch though, if you hang off a ledge, then repeatedly press x/up to climb up onto a ledge she will constantly repeat this climb-up animation, to the point where she goes off-screen (lmao),also, she can't break boxes, her bullet goes straight through, and it wont make her kick it. But other than that, she's probably the OP character of the lot! (lol) Mainly due to the fact that all projectiles in the game go through all objects, including her bullets. And nice forwards roll you implemented! Aside from the fact that it has little use it seems, its -extremely- fun to dive this way off high places, such as that secret high up area near the river where that female mechanic is resting. Which leads me onto the other thing, are there going to be any more female NPCs in the game later on? I actually got quite a shock when I first found her, she was the first female NPC I saw.

    8. Haha That's a funny glitch! I found a similar one in an early version where you could do the roll during a roll infinite times, causing her to fly like superman! xD
      Rudy is almost invisible to attacks during her roll.

      Rudy's projectiles will stop at objects and might be weaker than Voms hits. We will get to balancing her moves when her time comes, but for now we got what we need for testing out the levels.

      And yes, the island will have female NPCs. Anyone who pledged on certain rewards can even name them, so it would be fun!

    1. we don't really have a... "frequency"! We promised to you and to ourselves that we will be releasing stuff more often from now on.

      Our next release would be when:
      1) we perfect the docks and the cut scenes (Some things need to change or get modified)
      2) We finish the farms.

  38. Now I imagine you guys like keeping things under tight wraps at the moment. But can you give us a clue about boss these fights? What'll make them different to the standard mogi? besides being only one of them and tougher to defeat. Will they be at the end of the levels as standard practice, or crop at some stage to prevent Voms from progressing any further?
    I'm just curious as to what you guys plan to do. I'm not asking for spoilers so say the bare minimum if needs be :D

    1. Hard to say anything on this without spoilers.
      We will try to merge the bosses with the story. Since the game is non linear, they wont appear at the end of levels but on certain plot points. It's a bit early to say how many bosses there would be or how they would act. I guess they would have to appear in secluded areas. Some of them will try to talk to Voms. Some of them may fight against Voms and also some of the other playable chars such as Ucogi. I'm not sure what else to say.. bosses are a bit of vague concept at this point. We know what the 1st boss would look like and what boss would appear at the communications tower and at the end of the game... but what happens in between needs to be addressed according to the pace of the game. Which is trial and error. We need to make many levels before we know more about the bosses.

  39. Just wondering, will the Mogi monsters drop anything upon defeat? As in like upon defeating one, there's a 1% chance to drop a secret item or something, that would be pretty cool.

    1. We will add such things if we feel that anything like that can actually be useful at random times. So far we don't have a reason for MoGi to drop random items. The only items in the game are fruits and magazines and perhaps keys. Giving these things to random MoGi sounds like a bad idea.

    2. Thanks Victor. This model was more of a test for me. This is my first time modeling the female body and I spent so much time trying to get the boobs and butt to look decent. My brother told me it looks like the Loli version of RG stone because her legs and torso, and arms have no meat on them lol.

      I had no idea how to do the hair, I found it the most difficult of all and can't find a free tutorial on how to make decent cartoon/anime hair.

      The head model needs work. As someone said, the eyes look freaky, because theres no black outline around the eyes and no eye lids lol.

      The reference I used didnt have much thickness to the character and was slim, only part I enchanced were the boobs :D.

      I will be trying to get better at doing these types of models until they look good. Same for rigging and animation.

      Ill be modeling Voms next and his face will look a little more realistic. Hopefully better than my previous male model, which was terrible compared to RG Stone.

      Voms can be interesting... if he wears his mask then you wont have to worry about making his eyes, but his hair is designed to look 2d, like Mickey Mouse's ears in a way.

      RG Stone looks very good. There are always design deviations from 2d to 3d but considering you only had 1 reference image to work with, it's quite impressive! If you can't add texture, perhaps you could add small polygon shapes to create her eyelashes. Just a thought! ^^

    4. I really wanted to model Slime Girl Black in 3D but I couldnt find any reference image (Front, Side, and Back)that matched her body. I will model her eventually though, along with a few other MoGi's.

      Modeling Voms won't be as hard as a female. Ill definetely have him wearing his mask but ill still model his eyes even though I won't be showing it lol. But the hair man... why's it so hard to make 2D hair to 3D hair. >.<

      I'm not yet at the point where I can model just by looking at an image. Especially for complex models like humans or a pistol. I can model some things without having to set it up for 3D. I think I can but I just think that it's not going to end up right. Right now I can only model by using reference images set up for 3D Modeling.

      Ill be fixing Rock Girl Stone eyes and I might just try to model Slime Girl Black with out using images set up for 3D

Quick question, I found that the secret collectible magazines found in the game didn't really seem to fit in with the whole ucogi-styled world, wouldn't it seem far cooler if the magazine covers actually had ucogi-related artwork/stories on them? Or are the current magazine covers simply placeholders?

    1. True, the mags don't really fit art-wise that's the point. We wanted to add some collectible items but adding Ucogi art or MoGi images would be breaking the fourth wall because that would go against the story! So we use some art I had laying around as something extra for the fans to collect. It deviates from the MoGi theme but they are magazines.. they are always a window of reality in many senses! Besides, you don't have to collect them if you don't like them! :P

    1. in the demo you need to reach the 2nd area to find the enemies, which is straight ahead.

      in the beta, you need to go to the farms to find enemies. I'm not sure why you have trouble there.
