Feedback?

survey services

We had a poll regarding the arrow that points at the alleys of the game.
The question was: "What do you think of the arrow".

1) It needs to be more prominent (23%)
2) Leave it the way it is (31%)
3) Pin it to the ground near the exit (31%)
4) Get rid of it. It's ruining the exploration element (15%)
(200 votes)

We decided to leave it as it is for Voms timeline and remove it completely for the other playable characters. Thank you all for you time!

  1. The arrow is fine. The exploration is nice, but I seriously got stuck at the fire cause I didn't realize where another path was.

  2. I don't know what the arrow complaint is all about. I honestly never had trouble telling where I could go up. I didn't even know there WAS an arrow until someone else complained that they were too hard to see.

    1. Well to be honest, no one's really complaining. This was an internal discussion between Veins and I, that I decided to make public because I wanted to know what everyone's thoughts were.

    2. I did see a few posters complain that the arrow was too difficult to see and they would prefer it be over his head or something similar.

  3. What is the arrow even telling Voms to do in this picture?

  6. This is one of those little things that us, as developers need to players opinion.

You see, being able to find background alleys to walk in, is something that is not done enough in games to be as intuitive as opening doors. This game however is based on that mechanic because almost every screen has a background alley to walk into.

Now, Voms learns about this from the security guard as he needs to find the Vending machine. Then because of the fire he has no choice but to find the first farm valley. The question now is... is it easy for the players after a while to be able to recognize these background alleys? We added the arrows so that the player realizes that he can go in the background. Perhaps having the arrows drawn on the ground, can look like part of the foreground art but still be helpful. Perhaps having too many arrows makes the game less immerse. That's why the arrows right now are not too obvious, otherwise having an arrow on every screen, reminding you that you can go inside the background... it may be irritating.

Also, there would be secret areas that they won't have arrows to follow, so it's hard to draw the line where to have arrows and where not to. So there's a lot to consider, and that's why we are asking your feedback on this.

So, in short, do the arrows help, or you could live without them?

    1. I don't have beta but I think taking out the arrows will make the game less easy, more challenging, and realistic. Which is good in my opinion. :)

    2. I don't know if "realistic" is the right word, given that this is a two-dimensional game.

    1. If they fall behind schedule we will be sad but we will still buy the game. I would say what's most important is the quality of the game. Lets not rush them.

  9. There are some other things that have priority however... I just finished remaking the world map with all the paths and secrets and character routes. It took me 3 full days. I made a similar maps a while back but now we had the farms as a level reference, so the map is more consistent and the plan of what we have to do is much more clear.

I need to add a few things to the Neko-rape and after that I will make the next couple of maps as well and a new MoGi and the boss MoGi of the level. All that, while Titan is working on glitches and perfects everything we have so far! So excited! xD

    1. The game will be packaged like the demo. If you can run the demo you'll most likely be able to run the game.

  11. Not really on topic, but it would be nice if things that can be pushed or used had a small flashing animation when you get next to them. I was stuck after I entered a house and saved a guy from the neko mogi, had to close the game and open again because i didnt know what to do, then i read you can interact with the panel -.-'
I never interacted with the wooden cart or the yellow grass rolls till i saw it on the trailer... the interactive objects blend too much on the background i cant tell what i can work with...

    1. Thank you for your observation but we won't have indications about which items you can push. Items pushing and panel reading were covered in the tutorial, during the Docks level.

Me and Titan had a big long debate about such indications, more specific about the arrows in the levels/alleys (which is on topic!). We currently decided to leave the arrows as they are for Voms' gameplay, but most probably every other character won't have any arrows during their gameplay.

Thank you all for your participation!

  12. You know Victor you make it a win/win situation if you just allow the player to choose in the menus if he wants the arrow or not.

    1. We're working. Neko's hostage rape is HD and there's a cum animation there. Adding some extra rooms. Finished designing the first boss's gameplay elements. We're trucking along, but most of the stuff is under-the-hood, not physically visible.

We'll update the blog whenever we have something presentable.

    2. Cum animation in hostage rape scene, and in High Definition? This a dream come true! Thanks :)
