Erogi News

It's been a long time since our last update. We don't like keeping you in the dark, so here's what we've been up to and some of our background plans and thoughts.

1) Level Design: Veins devotes his time to finish the level design. The game is huge, bigger than we originally intended. Additional complexity has been added because of the different characters accessing different parts of the island, unlocking doors that other characters can't, finding and trading items with one another and so on. A few new elements have been added, such as taller trees and lakes.


As promised in Offbeatr, the game will have 11 areas. Here's the areas according to our latest map:
Docks, Farms, Forest A, Forest B, Forest C, Forest D, City, Tunnels, Labs, Ruined Labs, Caves.

2) Programing: Titan's work (unlike Veins' work) sometimes seems to be invisible, since he works behind the scenes. Also if the game doesnt work well he needs to work overtime and correct any errors, glitches, changes and bugs that there may be. He tries not only to make a good game, but a game that works on every possible computer, with as less glitches as possible. Right now he works on the sex scenes videos that it's something that was never done before in Game Maker.

3) Map: Titan will try to program a new. automated map. There is a total of almost 90 unique areas, not counting the interiors of the buildings. in the beta currently exist around 25 of these areas And Veins has designed around 60 of these areas. In a week or so, Veins hopes to finish the entire map.

4) Complexity of beta releases: We tried to be consistent and release a level and a MoGi each month. Focusing on the beta release sometimes is not the same as focusing on the game itself. Having to skip from level design to enemy design to character design/animation is not the optimal way to work on such project. The train of thought can be derailed and the progress can be slowed down when you work on various fronts all at once.

5) New MoGi: We decided to add some "new" MoGi to the game. By "new" we mean that these MoGi were not pledged to be in the original game. But we try to keep our fans happy by adding a few extra MoGi. Daisy will be a helpful MoGi. Rudy will also be transformed into 3 new MoGi that will give her access to new areas. For example, one of her MoGi transformations will help her climb walls. While talking about new MoGi, there's a high possibility that Succubus will transform into Ucogi and Alice.


 6) Bosses (Queens): We know when and where Voms will fight MoGi Queens. But the other characters need some bosses too. We are still try to decide which Queen will do what. We do know that each character at some point needs to fight a Queen using his/her special ability. For example, throw rocks if you are Chibi. We might use a few "new" MoGi as Queens that fight characters other than Voms. We do want to see some characters fight each other, like Alice vs Ucogi, but that remains to be seen. Some Queens might be reused, for example Golem will fight against Voms and Vor at different times during the game.

Currently, Titan's priority is to make the videos work, fix the city and make a good playable new beta release. Veins' priority is to finish the entire map design and after this is done, start working on the remaining MoGi, Queens and playable characters.

We will leave you with a question. Which MoGi Queens would you like to see the other characters (all except Voms) fight, and why?

    Well I vote for Scorpion, because I think with her body she could have many interesting move for a boss fight.

    Also Cactus seem to have to be a brawler, could be interesing to go against Vor

    Also, I never thought on a scenario where Ucogi and Alice would fight, thats fresh info.

      Some background info... MoGi Origins occurs after the Bondage Hangman game and before the SuckerSuck game. So, Alice and Ucogi are not really friends in this game. Everything will be explained ingame.

    1. Pixie will exist.. as a Hostage rape I think. However, because of the lore, we can't have flying or swimming MoGi because then.. they could leave the island! And we can't ahve that! Pixie has wings, so she can probably fly for a bit before she gets tired.

    2. That's one thing I love is you guys taking the time to reply individually like this. I definitely understand that and honestly I would've suggested the same thing (flying for a short period of time).

      While I don't own the beta (not enough funds right now as $30 is a bit too much for me to afford for a beta, sorry.) I absolutely loved the demo. That was pretty fun. I can't wait to see the finished version though. Keep up the great work.

    3. Replying is not a chore. Qite the opposite actually, it motivates me to work. Some days when I wake up and I feel lazy... a single comment can cause a reaction. Just by having to reply, it makes me think of the game, which in turn it may give me new ideas and enough inspiration to work.

      I wish I could say and share more about the game but I want to avoid any spoilers or promise things that may fail to happen.

  11. I still havent been able to get the sex scenes to work in this new version this whole time. The mogi just spazz out ontop of me walking back and forth really fast and the gallery wont work either . (all works fine in the old version before naiad)

    1. Titan will to look into that. The new game version has new programming. I just remembered.. Titan need to update the demo at some point with the new programming. I really hate all that extra time that we have to spend on these unpredictable side projects.

      In any case, Titan will need to know what operating system you got. Also, Plz make sure that you dont mix or override old files with new files in your game folder because it will surely corrupt the game's programming. We'll be waiting your response, or better yet, use the contact form so that Titan talks to you personally and directly.

    3. Same for me on 8.1. The music isn't playing (other soundeffects do work) and no sex scenes at all (not even in the gallery). It's probably a missing .dll file that was in win7 by default. But I'm just guessing.

  13. Just an idea. I know you said that there wouldn't be any swimming Mogi, but for flying Mogi you made it so that they could fly, but not for long.

    Well, my idea for a swimming Mogi is this; the entire game is on an island, right? And the are in the middle of the ocean, right? Why not have it so the Mogi can only live in FRESHWATER areas, like the lakes on the island. Plenty of freshwater fish can't survive in salty ocean water. Just a thought.

    1. You are absolutely correct. Althought we don't have any fish-MoGi, we do consider the fact that some snake girls ma be able to survive on fresh water and perhaps swim in it. No snake-MoGi were pledged so we don't have to worry about that though. Also, Naiads were supposed to be freshwater spirits and actually Naiad can control water in the card game, so yeah, it's not like all MoGi got water-phobia.

      We left some small opportunity windows open, just in case the game was going to go one way or another due to the OB pledges. The beauty of making this game is that the fans shaped it in a great percentage and that me and Titan didn't have complete control over the entire project. However, as creators, it is our job to balance the game (like when we took off a slime MoGi from our original list because there were too many slime MoGi in the game). Right now it's too late to design any new MoGi for this game, but yeah, it was our intention from the start, the MoGi are designed in such way that they are isolated to the island.

  14. I've been running into a bug that happens during what I assume is the corner collision. Unsure what conditions cause it, but the character locks up and starts standing and crouching very quickly, http://s21.postimg.org/w7tavoz6u/bug.jpg , and the only two fixes are for an enemy to attack and knock him out of it, or to leave the game and reload.

  15. The boss that all characters face... is it too much to ask if this is the final boss for all characters or mid-boss at a common locale? My answer for which mogi depends on the answer, Vampire or succubus are my favorites so I like the idea of having them as final bosses. However Medusa or Scorpion seem like intimidating foes for a mid-boss. So yeah, count that vote depending. ;-)

    1. The characters will have different mid and final bosses and in different locations, with a few exceptions. I dont want to reveal too much on that, I dont want to ruin the game with my spoilers!

      Vampire is not currently a boss but according to how things go, she might fit a boss position. I haven't run this with titan so that's my personal hope atm. She appears in a Hostage Rape so we might give the boss place to some unused MoGi. I dont know yet how this will go.

      Poor Scorpion is only a Lv1 in the cards because I always pictured her as a small enemy. She also would be hard to animate but if we can add her anywhere, we will. I cant see her as a boss though. We do have plans for a boss-Medusa but we might try to cheat a little because the extra work keeps piling up!

    To answer your question: [IDK if these are all the queens]

    Stheno looks like the type of boss who can 1 hit KO by turning you to stone with her eyes if your not carful and attacks with poison for damage over time.

    Oak Tree looks like she would have a lot of CC, like vines to ensnare her enemies, attacks that land on the enemy would heal her.

    Cyclops looks like a hard hitting MoGi. Like one hit would take half of your hp. Her image has her about to throw a giant boulder at you! Scary!

    Golem looks like she would have a lot of hp and causes earthquakes to damage her enemies!

    Red looks like a boss that would use slime to cover the ground, decreasing her enemy movement speed while increasing her own.

    I'd go with Red cuz she like my favorite mogi in the game! SLIME GIRL BLACK!

  17. I have a few questions about the game:

    1) I know that this is late to mention it now, but in the trailer, you feature other playable characters such as Ucogi, Alice, Rudy, Vor, etc. if you pledge during the crowdfunding period. So why is Dedu is not included as a playable character? What is the reason behind not including him as a pledge reward?

    2) After the game is completed, has there been any thought about adding new content as DLC in the future?

    1. Thanks for your interesting questions :)

      1) Dedu is not a fighter (or brave enough) and we didn't thought he would be interesting enough to appear in the game (Irene would have been more interesting imo). But then again... there are 7 playable characters! We would really have a hard time to add an 8th character. Dedu would need his own sex scenes as well. And I don't think any story with him would be too interesting or relevant for this game (Tbh, I dislike stories where the writers try to fit anyone in, especially in the TV series where they try to find plot excuses for more screen time just because they paid the actors!) Also after 7 playthroughs.... would you like to play the game an 8th time? Thats too much.
      We had hard time making a map with unique doors for 7 characters. Any 8th character would make the game twice as hard to design. All that said, Dedu might have a cameo appearance as a support character. Thanks for liking him! :P

      2) That's a programming issue that Titan wanted to avoid, so no the game will be solid, no DLC.

    2. Darn… Well that's disappointing to hear that Dedu will not be featured as a possible playable character, but I do understand the limitations in the development in the game.
      I was hoping to see some kind of character development with Dedu in the game's story if he were a playable character where as you said, has no courage, to becoming confident after battling Mogi. If you do decide to put him in as a playable character for a possible DLC, here are some of my ideas I could give.
      For the in-game mechanics, since you stated that he is not a fighter (or not brave enough), you could give him half the stats of Vom.
      As for the game’s story involving Dedu, here are some of the key ideas:
      • As a civilian, the city is ordered to evacuate
      • Sees Ucogi run off somewhere
      • Tries to go after her, but gets run over by civilians as they are in a panic trying to escape
      • He regains consciousness after being run over by other civilians
      • Worried about Ucogi, he goes out searching for her, but encounters Mogi for the first time
      • Dedu tries to escape from the Mogi, but gets cornered, so he has no choice but to defend himself
      • Successfully being able to defend himself from the Mogi, he continues his search for Ucogi
      • Near the end of Dedu’s story, he encounters Ucogi in a pinch battling against a boss Mogi. Before the boss Mogi delivers the final blow, Dedu intervenes and protects her
      • After Dedu defeats the boss, Ucogi becomes thankful for his help. Both escape the city together
      • When they leave the city, Dedu gains the courage to ask Ucogi out on a date
      I know that this seems cliché, but it is an example I could think of… Anyway, it is up to you if you ever decide to put that up in the future. I look forward to the completion of the game.

    3. Haha! Not bad! Actually one of your points is quite accurate on how the story will go, but I wont say which one! :P

      Now that I recall it, at the very beginning of this project, me and Titan discussed the possibility of Dedu being the main hero of the game. Titan wanted an original character therefore we created Voms. So, Voms kinda replaced Dedu but I'm glad he did because Voms is now a unique character without attachments to Ucogi and friends. Also about Dedu... I wouldnt like him to be a mechanic, it doesnt fit him at all.

      We have many characters that need character development as it is. We will learn more about Ucogi Alice and Rudy, their purpose of being there and their skills to overcome the island's obstacles. Dedu doesnt have a purpose there, or any skills. He was always more like comic relief than anything else. Making him a hero in the game would feel very forced. Chibi being in the game as a fighter is a stretch as it is!

      Also, Dedu is not very popular. The fans would rather play as a MoGi rather than a character worse than Voms. Playing the game for 8th time using the worst character of the game sounds like a very bad idea... the only way I can justify that is for challenge purposes, like selecting Dan in Street Fighter. I'd rather not have people dislike Dedu as much as I dislike Dan!

Ahh it's good to see that you guys are still working on the game with the 2 months of no updates I was worried that there would be some unexpected cancellation or something along the game being suspended for a while. Very good to see you guys are still working hard at it I'm really looking forward to the finished product.

  20. Was just wondering, has anyone been able to play 0.15? I mean it starts and works just fine without any problems but it ALWAYS bugs when jumping to heights so characther gets stuck in animation swapping between kneeling/standing cant do anything and have to shut down and restart and do everything all over again. I got frustrated fast and now im done im not playing until its fixed no point wont get anywhere either way will just bug.

    1. Yes this is something that needs to be fixed.... but this is why this is called Beta, because it needs testing and it saves us development time when you guys find these glitches. A lot of glitches appear in some computers but they don't appear in some computers.

  23. Actually... we wanted to release a new Beta since May but we went through some challenges. Titan tries to fix the video bugs but while he does that, I have completed on paper the design of 100% of the map. On screen, I'm 80% done but then Titan would have to put these maps one by on in the game.

    While he does that, I will work on the Playable characters, which Titan has already program. So we work on different things but we are making progress. The progress we do sometimes contains spoilers or it's not something visible to the public eye.

    When Titan deals with the video glitches, we will release a new beta... with Voms controls fixed as well (no stucking on the corners).

  26. Some bugs in the latest beta:
    - Character and Monsters can break out of levels under certain circumstances
    - The breakbar during being KO can lead to many different bugs. THe breakbar should only appear once the character is either lying on the ground or the when the raping animation is playing
    - There seems to be a memory leak. The game crashed with the message that there was no memory space left

    1. I think everything is fixed and will be implemented by the next beta release, shouldn't be too long. But yeah scenes are not playing both in game or gallery, and for some reason your pretty invincible since you can break out without any worries.

    4. I know.. but then we had memory issues and then we had to convert to video and now we had these video glitches. I don't know the details since it's Titan's field but he does his best to fix it. When he does, we will release the new Beta.

  28. Maybe its just me, but I often find myself lost in this game o3o. While I do actually understand the mapping system, it's kind of a bit frustrating not knowing what to do next. Like my first play-through, it took me almost half an hour to figure out where the farmer's house was, and like another to get inside. The game is great don't get me wrong, but it doesn't tell you clear enough what your objective is it's like," go find this, good luck!" and after the oak boss, I had no idea I was supposed to go find the city. I actually watched a beta play-through just to understand this lol.

    Also enemy wise, I kind of find it an extreme pain to tackle enemies down whilst still trying to navigate. Vom's 3-hit wrench kind of becomes more of a chore than something practical on 5 converging monster girls. I know this isn't for all the girls, such as squirrel and neko, but its still a huge ass pain for a small gang of them to box you in and mutilate you. I don't wanna say re balance because its fairly okay as it is, but I think adding save points to more appropriate places and maybe toning down the monster girl numbers a tad bit in each area would let players breathe A LOT easier, but again that's just my opinion.

    Also there's something that edges my mind a little, will the MoGi appear based on their location and appearance, or by vote and popularity. Like what I mean is, is a MoGi like Medusa for example only going to appear in dark map like underground with stone, and cactus in the desert only? Or are they going to be put on poll and be released into various areas like roulette basically :P? Also will there be plans on future MoGi other than the ones listed, or is this game basically going to be a one and done deal, once its finished that's all there is to it.

    I love this game, and I know you guys try your hardest to work on this and solve the issues that come with it. We understand things like this aren't made in a single day. Please know you have our support and willing to work with you :D

    1. Thank you for raising these interesting questions.

      The map system was primitive. We had to design all levels while making the map and that took a lot of work and concentration. The map system is fairly unique since it doesnt quite follow the exact receipe of other metroidvania games. I just finished making the map (86 areas, interiors excluded) and Titan works to make it as perfect as he can. I think that the currect beta has a few map highlights, like when you get the key from Lucy, the map glows yellow as to where you have to go. If that doesnt work, then it was in some older version... we do make a lot of changes and we lose track of them. But to make this clear, When Voms knows where he is supposed to go, that place will glow. Otherwise it's exploration time!

      Voms' 3-hits on pumpkins or other MoGi might be a lot or repetitive hits but it might stay like that until we design all the MoGi so that we can finally balance the game. The save points are fixed can will be seen on the map once the map is done.

      About MoGi locations... this is kind of a spoiler or background info, but the MoGi at first are placed randomly on the island (capsules fall here and there at random) and later on they may form teams. Having Pumpkins and Mushrooms in the Farms was a bit of a coincidence i suppose, since we didnt have any other MoGi made at that time. But the island is mostly forest so it doesnt really matter where they appear. That said, they will appear based on their design and attacks, so that they keep the levels fresh and challenging.

      The MoGi list is set and we dont plan on making any new MoGi for this game. We do however add new MoGi sometimes, MoGi that werent pledged, such as Daisy. Oh, btw I think we might add Scorpion as well, not as an enemy, but she might appear at some point :)

      The game... once its finished that's all there is to it. We need to finish it and move to new projects. Who knows, if this goes well we might have a sequel! xD

    2. You need to make a sequel, with Nacked Alice :D and the rest of the MoGi of course or even new ones, but well, I will be already happy with that game, continue the good work and I hope Titan can resolve this problem soon (also I know someone that is dying to see a certain slimy MoGi) :)

  31. Hey Victor, you've probably heard this a billion times, but when do you think you and titan will finish this? I don't mean when the next beta will be released but like the whole game. Of course, I'm not saying," Give me the exact date and time this'll be released OwO!" Lol no, if you guys had to predict, if to say; things went smoothly in production, how long would it take for you to finish this whole thing? Would this be a project thatll take as long as next year, or by the end of this one? I just want to hear your guys' own predictions, I could care less if the actual product took 2 years to finish.

    1. That is a fair question...

      I can only answer for myself (with a bit of wishful thinking involved). I want (and it is possible) to finish with all the art by Xmas. Time and money start to run out so I really need to finish this sooner than later but without compromising the quality. When the art is done, I still have to write all the dialogues for the stories of Ucogi and friends and also put everything in the game's Guide. The Guide however is not part of the game itself, just something extra.

      I can't reply for Titan because his programing is invisible to the naked eye and unpredictable when glitches occur. It might take him longer to program any new characters I may design, but even that is uncertain because he has already program all the playable characters but I have yet to design them. So, we both progress on different areas but it goes without saying that the programmer will have to add the final touches.

      Things never go smoothly in the production. Even when the game is 100% done, the players are bound to find glitches and errors that we have to correct. So I guess the number "100%" is an elusive one.

      About the next Beta, that's on Titan's hand. He told me that he may be able to release it by the end of July if he manages to solve the video problem.

  34. I'm a buyer, and i post my disgusts as an anonymous person. I can´t believe that we pay for this game, and is still in development. If you don't want to work please don't start a project... and don't try to collect money for this!!!! It's not free!!! Can te people have their money back? We need an answer

    1. Instead of calling us lazy, I think it'd be fairer to just think of the challenge of game development as more difficult than you originally imagined.

      If we were lazy? Or just trying to jip people of their money we wouldn't respond to comments or fan ideas. We would have disappeared a long time ago.

      In fact, the work we're currently doing is half so that the game runs on more computers.

    3. I agree, a lot of people don't realize projects like this aren't made in a single day and take time and money to make. I appreciate the fact you guys sacrifice a lot of time and effort to make this game alive and take the time to respond to your supporters and fans. I won't lie, I'm a little anxious for the next release and the whole game, but i'm willing to wait and would not dare try to call you guys out, for $30 on a game thats still being developed thats not bad, it already has loads of content in it and a unique story, and its not even half way done! Patience is going to go a long way, you guys do an amazing job don't let some troll drag you down.

    4. I totally understand why Anon talks like that. He is however a bit wrong as well. Here is my opinion on the matter.

      1) We haven't had a decent update in a while. I don't like this one bit but that is what it is. Some things can't be rushed. We rushed the last Beta and it came out crap. But that's what Beta is. It goes out and you guys find the errors that would take us longer to discover ourselves. Not to mention that this occurs on several hundred computers, which would have been impossible for 2 people to test. Moreover, Titan has to try and fix the problems that any computer might have to run the game through sheer speculation! So he does a lot of invisible work that we will never comprehend.

      2) Being lazy is not in our best interest. We lose money because of rent and other things. I was hoping to get some money on the side but the numbers sometimes don't add up. But we signed up for this. Our careers and future depends on this game. I do too want to finish sooner than later but we keep adding stuff, correcting stuff and rearrange stuff in the game. Just 2 days ago I asked Titan "hey, could we add some barrels floating on the water that would sink if Voms steps on them? I don't want to add them if this takes you a lot of your time because we won't be using them more than 5 times in the whole game and you got more important stuff to deal with. I just need some more variety on the level design". Titan said that he would like to do it. I'm not sure if we will add that at all, but we do keep ideas just like this one to make a better game.

      We are required to see the future as well. One wrong prediction on level 5 might require us to change a whole map section. This hasn't happen, but it's a possible scenario that can set us back if we are not careful. It's not like what we do is set on stone until we are finally done.

      3) We could easily release some crappy game. Some generic mario-clone. Tha would have been so easy! But we went the hard road instead. MoGI Origins is a semi-realistic cinematic video game with a story and interwined plots. That's one of the hardest game genres someone can make. It would be so easy to make a game with no story, with platform floating on the air hanging from nothing, where you shoot your way through level 3-2 which is just a repetition of level 3-1. But we dont do that here because we are better than that. A lot of thought had to go to the level design... which doors unlock, when they do and by which characters they do. Again, this is something you can't see right now but it will make more sense when the rest of the characters get unlocked.

      4) This game is not complete yet, that's fact. But also, even at the state that's in, it is a big game, bigger than most other H-games out there. You need about 40 minutes to an hour to get through it if you don't know what to do. There might not be many bosses at the moment because we need to build the levels for them first. And there may be not many MoGi enemies because there's only 6 left to do and if we release them now then there won't be any interest in playing the rest of the game which we are still making.

      All that said, thanks for reminding us that have a long road ahead of us and that we need to keep working. People not complaining can create fake feelings of safety.. that we are okay as we are. But sometimes we do need a bit of a pinch or advice or an uplifting word to give us a little boost, pr even a question that could make us rethink a few things and set us on the right track. Me and Titan mostly have each other to talk to but when we interact with the community here, is a great motivational feeling.

    1. Like we said many times before, the "June 2014 deadline" was an estimation that would have occurred if the only playable character was Voms and without any other extra goals.

      After the crowdfunding was over, 6 more playable characters were added (with any level complexity and Bosses that these chars are entitled), many new MoGi enemies and Bosses (plus their sex scenes).

      My personal goal is to finish all the art by Xmas 2015. I can't be sure if I will make it or not, but that's my goal. I can't speak for Titan so I don't know when the game will be finished.

      The truth is that we have a lot of stuff ahead of us. MoGi Origins is already a lot longer than most other H-games and it will be even longer (maybe even 3 times longer than it is now), so this is probably something positive for the $30 you spent to get the beta.

      If you follow the development of other H-games such as Breeding Season (after 3 years the game is still in early alpha), we are much faster at what we do for the scale of the game we are making.

    2. I understand. However, why wasn't there a focus on creating one storyline at a time and releasing the stretch goals such as other characters at a later date once the game was finished? Instead of spreading your work.

    3. The storylines are intertwined. Voms meets Ucogi in Forest-B06 and then meets Alice in Forest-C15. He couldnt meet Alice first and Then Ucogi because that could mess the plot. Some things need to happen before other things, or they won't make sense in the story.

      We had to plan ahead who meets who and when and where so that the story is consistent. Ucogi in her playthrough also has to meet Voms in Forest-B06 and they trade info or items that help each other. More over, we had to know where each character does certain things, such as boss battles and accessing new areas.

      Imagine this: There is a building in Forest-C04. Voms can get in only if he has Tool Lv2, Ucogi can get in only if she has keycard lv2, Chibi can get in only if she has Screwdriver Lv1, Rudy can avoid the building and progress only if she gains a certain MoGi ability (instead of her usual "hacking the doors") and Alice can avoid the building and progress by gliding over a lake!

      And that is only one of the 2 buildings in that area! Now think of a map with 86 such areas! That's the game we are making here. And that's why we couldn't have one timeline without thinking ahead and make a game for all the playable characters. Each character has a unique gameplay and path to follow. We never wanted to cheat by making you play the same game over and over with different characters. The way the game is designed, each character is a whole new experience.

      We chose a hard path to follow and we hope it will be worth the waiting.

      Haha! It is not! It is now in Alpha state! And they intend in hitting the beta within this year! There are roughly 1596 animations to make, tho they said that not all animations will be made. *flies away*
