Golem and Labs

Veins here.

Summer, heat, people visit... it wasnt a productive month for me. Not as much as I wanted anyways. I haven't been on vacations for over a year and this slows me down. In any case, I try to keep my chin up and work with as much enthusiasm as I possibly can.

This month I finished Golems animations. Golem is one of Voms final bosses and although she doesn't have much of a story, I hope in the end she can add something new to the table. Voms cannot beat her, but another character can hopefully put up a fight against her. I do like the idea that Voms won't be able to do everything on his own and the other playable characters will be around to assist him in their own timelines. She is one of the 3 giant Queens, along with Cyclops and Stheno.


Titan was super busy during July, but he told me a few days ago that he has worked on the levels. Almost all of them are linked but he still needs to set their riddles, hazards and mechanics. There are a lot of these additions that we haven't been able to share, so perhaps it's time to show some of them.


This is one of the many new rooms with new mechanics and animations. Voms will be able to climb on moving platforms and try to avoid toxic clouds, exploding pipes and goo eruptions, as the Chemistry Lab is falling apart! There are 3 Labs that form a big riddle and Voms has to solve it in order to proceed with his adventure. Like the City and the Tower, the Labs serve as a break from the horizontal platforming and enemy fighting, to focus a bit more on the puzzle elements of the game.

  1. So far I am impressed with the amount of work and care you put into your game, and it shows. ^^ Thank you both for staying so strong and keeping positive, and I hope that after this is all done that you get the vacation you deserve.

    Still curious as to how someone might be able to beat the Golem Girl considering her size, but I love the tag team mechanic.

    2. I do post new stuff every month to show our progress. This is a huge game and like most projects, it has its issues. But we are still here, fighting for it.

      All the chatacters will meet eachother at some point. I always wanted to make those meetings mean something, not be there for the sake of fanservice. Eaxh char will help Voms at least once, in his quest.

  2. Well you know what I don't know how to animate shit so...I'm impressed by the work and amount of dedication.

  3. I can't believe it has already been about 10 months since the last beta came out... I know this takes time, but this is getting a bit crazy... Can you not just release another beta with what you guys have so far?

    1. Titan's programming is not ready yet. I havent seen a new version in months as well. I do try to resolve the issue and force a release for a while now.

  4. What I just don't get is how long this game has been in development. It's been what... 6-8 years? I want to see it done, but we don't even know how much work is actually being put into this. You can look at other devs, even in the advertisement area on this blog, like zell. He's a solo developer and has made tons of areas and enemies in his game, the amount of enemies is well over 40-50 at this point i think.. And he's even working on ANOTHER game right now. Another thing, his game is free. I think he accepts donations, but yea. Not saying it's a bad thing to ask for money in game development, not at all. But when money is mandatory to be involved to be able to even play the game, people should at least be able to expect progress at a consistent and good rate. The rate that you guys communicate with us is fine, seems to be on a monthly update report. But the amount of time between updates themselves? Idk. It's been almost a year since the last beta update, in that time you've pocketed almost 7k off of patreon, right? Quite a bit for nothing to present to the ppl that are supporting. We just want to see the game done, no hate here. Just wondering what's really going on or how much work is really being put in the game. I know game development can take a long time but things still seem to be going really slow on this game whereas plenty of other games being developed see progress at a much faster rate than this

    1. I feel ashamed that this game has took so long to finish. Yes it's been 7 years this month and it has actually hold me back from other projects. I do show my own progress in each post, try to stay optimistic. I do want to see the game done as well. The beta updates...that's Titans department and he is very slow since he left my home, 6 months ago. I havent seen anything from him since then, but he swears he works, as slow as that might be.

    2. Veins, if Titan is actually Rick Myers (supposed developer of the Monster Girl Quest 3D game started on KickStarter), then I wouldn't expect this game to ever be finished. I donated to this game and MGQ3D at the same time. I have no faith in that creator, as he has completely changed the concept of the original plans for the game and hasn't posted an update in far too long.

      I will give you guys credit where credit is due. You do update somewhat more regularly than Rick Myers does; but like all the others on here, I am wondering about the product that my donation (given over six years ago) went towards.

      Thank you for the updates; but hopefully I can see the next beta on the dropbox link you sent me back in 2014 soon.

    3. No, Titan is not Rick Myers. I dont know about the next beta... that is entirely up to Titan and he is absent for several weeks at a time during the entire summer. I'm frustrated about this as everyone else. But I keep working on my parts of the game regardless.

  5. Hi Veins and TitanAnteus,

    While we do appreciate the lengthy amount of time and effort put into providing us contributors a playable beta version of the game, but aren't you guys forgetting the role of beta testers (if we are considered beta testers...) is that we report any bugs/glitches to you guys so you can fix them in the next version? The upcoming version does not need to be perfect as the supposed finalized game. I don't understand why you guys put yourselves in this situation.

    Also, do keep in mind that you are receiving funding from us, and we expect you to produce timely results. Please treat this as if we are the investors putting in money for your project, so we may expect a return on investment. Otherwise, investors would normally request to pull funding away to avoid further losses.

    1. I agree with you bro, but what Veins is saying is that Titan is not giving him any of his work yet so Veins has nothing to put together.. It is rather unfortunate though for such a great game to be hindered by something so minute.

    2. Last I spoke to Titan (3 weeks ago), he linked all the levels (yes all the levels are supposedly done) but he still needs to finish programming the riddles. You see, if the riddles arent done, you wont be able to go through the levels because they are locked. And even if we have all the levels unlocked, then we ruin the game for you and we dont test the riddles.

      The way we do things, I design, then I give my designs to Titan and he puts them together. Then we release a beta. I havent seen any of my work come to life in a long time and it's hard even for me to keep on going and be self-motivated, but I try my best. Thank you for your nice words, even saying that you like our game, keeps me going. At this point I actually feel alone in this project. I told Titan to come visit me and work together again from my place because this is killing me.
